Figures are measured at the wheels — the factory spec of 259 kW is at the engine. Drivetrain loss of ~38% is normal for this vehicle. Gains are measured stock vs tuned on the same dyno run, so the comparison is apples-to-apples.

No extras. No surprises.

Just the remap. Stock everything else.

Most diesel owners think a power tune means a shopping list — new exhaust, bigger intercooler, upgraded injectors, a 3-inch downpipe. It doesn't. Years of calibration development on our Sydney dyno means we deliver the same real-world power and torque on a 100% stock BMW X7 as a comparable car running thousands of dollars in aftermarket bolt-ons. The fuel savings, the daily-drive smoothness, the long-term reliability — that's the brief we tune to.

  • Works with your factory exhaust

Years of calibration development mean we extract the same real-world power as setups running aftermarket headers, cat-backs and bigger downpipes. Save the $1,500–3,000.

  • No injector, turbo or intercooler upgrades

Stock hardware handles every gain we sell. We tune within the factory injection, boost and EGT limits — never beyond them.

  • Built for everyday driving

School runs, the daily commute, weekend towing, highway cruising, occasional bush track — that's where our tune lives. Not a race-track special.

  • Long-term reliability is the brief

Conservative EGT targets, dyno-validated AFR, factory-grade injection pressure. The tune is designed to be invisible 99% of the time and felt the 1% you ask for it.

Who it's for: Aussie drivers who use their BMW X7 every day — for work, the kids, the caravan, the trades, the occasional weekend bush trip. If you want a race-tuned engine ready for the drag strip, that's not us. If you want your daily diesel to feel like it should have from the factory, that's exactly us.

Engineering notes

About the BMW X7 3L

The 3 L engine in the BMW X7 is at the top end of what this displacement produces — serious injection pressure, sophisticated turbocharger management, and a factory calibration that leaves room on the table by design. These engines are well-engineered enough that a careful, dyno-developed map extracts meaningful gains without asking anything the hardware isn't already built to handle.

Our dyno-developed map for the BMW X7 adds an average of 37 kW (23%) at the wheels and 137 Nm (19%) of engine torque. At this level the car genuinely changes character — overtaking on single-lane highways stops being a commitment, and the mid-range pull from around 1,500 to 3,000 rpm is transformed. You notice it most on the highway on-ramp and in the first third of an overtake.

In practical terms, that works out to around 9 fewer tanks of diesel over 40,000 km. At a typical 15,000 km annual mileage, most BMW X7 owners save roughly 240 L and $288 per year at the pump — purely from improved combustion efficiency at part-throttle, where diesels spend most of their time.

This BMW X7 variant ran from 2022–2025 — long enough that the factory calibration was revised more than once during that run. Before we flash anything, we identify the exact year and ECU revision, read and back up the original file, and then apply the map built for that specific version.

BMW B57

The B57 succeeded the N57 from 2015. It runs a modular design with single-turbo and bi-turbo variants. Calibration headroom is genuine, and our maps preserve the smooth, near-petrol delivery the B57 is famous for.

Why a BMW X7 remap actually matters

Three reasons we tune diesels — and why a custom dyno-developed map is different from a flash-and-go file.

Facts

Factories detune for the world

Modern diesels — including the BMW X7 — leave the factory with a calibration that has to suit dozens of fuel grades, climates, tow ratings and emissions regulations across global markets. There is real headroom left in the engine, the turbo and the injectors. A custom remap unlocks that headroom safely, on your fuel, on your roads, for your driving style.

Safety

Torque is what overtakes

Peak horsepower looks great on a brochure, but it's mid-range torque that gets you past a road-train on a single-lane highway, or up the Blue Mountains with a caravan on the back. Our tunes target the rev range you actually drive in — so the BMW X7 pulls cleanly and confidently when it counts, with AC load and altitude factored in.

Environment

Less fuel, less CO₂

A properly developed remap improves combustion efficiency at part-throttle — exactly where most diesels live on long highway runs. The result on the BMW X7 is measurable: less diesel burned per 100 km, less CO₂ out the exhaust, and a smaller fuel bill at the end of the month. The numbers further down this page are based on 40,000 km of mixed driving at current Sydney pump prices.

Experience

BMW diesel specialists

From the N47 through to the B47/B57, BMW common-rail diesels are some of the cleanest cars to tune — the calibration headroom is real. We've developed maps for almost every X-, 3-, 5- and 7-series diesel sold in Australia.

Diesel tuning is not the same as petrol tuning. To safely access the ECU on a modern BMW X7 you need the right bench tools, OBD interfaces and software for that specific calibration — there is no universal flasher that handles every car. We carry five separate tuning suites in the workshop, which between them cover roughly 90% of the diesels sold in Australia. The other 10% we open via bench, and we always back up the original file before any change is made.

Workshop

A complete automotive workshop

Choosing a tuner for your BMW X7 is about more than just the file. The shop the work is done in matters. Our Sydney workshop is a full-service automotive facility — diagnostics, mechanical, electrical, dyno, four-wheel alignment — all under one roof. We service Sydney drivers in person, and customers across Australia via our posted-ECU service.

Software & tools

Five separate ECU tuning suites in the workshop, plus bench-level access for the locked-down ECUs (later BMW, Mercedes, Land Rover and Volvo platforms). We always back up your factory file before any change.

Climate-controlled dyno room

Wind- and climate-controlled cell with motorsport-grade dyno. Every BMW X7 that comes in for a remap gets a before / after dyno run and a road-test. EGT, AFR and boost are monitored throughout.

Common-rail experience

More than a decade developing custom maps for Common-Rail diesels — Bosch, Denso, Delphi and Continental ECUs. Our team includes carefully selected international calibrators with hands-on bench experience.

Why this matters for your BMW: a good remap is only half the job. The other half is being able to diagnose first — to know whether what you have is a tuning opportunity or an underlying mechanical or electrical problem. A blocked DPF, a failing turbo actuator, a tired injector or a stretched timing chain will all masquerade as "needs a tune." We rule that out before we touch the ECU.

High-mileage vehicles

300,000 km? You'll likely notice the biggest difference.

After 300k km, carbon build-up in the intake manifold, EGR passages and intercooler quietly steals power — your BMW X7 is already running below its original factory spec before we touch it. A remap recalibrates fuelling and boost around the engine as it runs today, recovering that lost headroom on top of the standard gains. Many high-mileage owners feel a bigger real-world improvement than a newer car.

BMW X7 remap — common questions

How much power gain on a BMW X7 3L? +

On our Sydney dyno we typically see +37 kW (+23%) at the wheels and +137 Nm (+19%) of engine torque on a stock BMW X7 3L. These are average measured figures — every car varies based on mileage, engine condition, wheel size and ambient conditions, which is why we always run a before-and-after dyno on your specific car.

Why is the dyno reading lower than my BMW X7's 259 kW factory spec? +

Because the factory spec is measured at the engine (the crankshaft), but the dyno measures at the wheels — after the gearbox, transfer case, tailshaft, differentials and tyres have each taken a small percentage. This drivetrain loss is normal and varies by drivetrain: front-wheel-drive cars lose around 12–18%, rear-wheel-drive 16–22%, AWD/4WD utes and wagons 22–35%. What matters for tuning is the difference between stock and tuned measured at the same point on the same dyno — and on the BMW X7 that comes out to +37 kW at the wheels.

Do I need a new exhaust to get full power? +

No. This is the most common question we get. Our maps for the BMW X7 are developed specifically to deliver maximum real-world power and torque with the factory exhaust still fitted. Years of calibration work mean you get the same on-road result as a setup running an aftermarket cat-back, downpipe or full system — without spending an extra $1,500–3,000.

Will I need new injectors, a bigger turbo or an upgraded intercooler? +

No — none of those are required for the gains shown above. Stock injection, boost and intercooling on the BMW X7 have meaningful headroom that the factory map never uses. We tune within those factory limits, which is why our maps stay reliable and don't shorten engine life.

Will the remap save me fuel? +

Yes — over 40,000 km we estimate 640 L of diesel saved (about $768 at current Sydney pump prices) and roughly 1,715 kg less CO₂.

Is the tune safe for everyday driving and towing? +

That's exactly what it's designed for. Most of our BMW X7 customers use their car daily — for work, the kids, the caravan, the boat. We hold conservative EGT targets, validate AFR on the dyno, and stay inside factory injection-pressure limits. The tune is meant to be invisible until you need the extra grunt.

Is the BMW X7 remap reversible? +

Yes. We back up your factory ECU file before any changes and can restore it any time — for trade-in, dealer service, warranty work or resale.

How long does the tune take? +

Most BMW X7 remaps are completed in a single day at our Sydney workshop, including dyno before/after runs and a road test.

Will it affect my warranty? +

An ECU remap can affect manufacturer warranty on related driveline components. We back up the factory file so we can restore the original calibration before any dealer visit, and we always discuss the implications openly before booking.

My BMW X7 has over 300,000 km — is it still worth tuning? +

Yes, and high-mileage BMW X7 owners are often our most impressed customers. After 300,000 km, carbon build-up in the intake and intercooler has already robbed the engine of meaningful power compared to how it ran when new. A remap recalibrates fuelling and boost around the engine as it runs today — recovering that lost headroom and adding the standard gains on top. Many owners notice a bigger real-world difference than a newer car precisely because there is more to recover. The BMW X7 is a diesel built to reach 500,000 km with regular servicing, so there are hundreds of thousands of kilometres left to enjoy the improvement.
