What We Optimised
The Toyota LandCruiser 79 Series 4.5L 1VD-FTV V8 diesel twin-turbo is one of the most capable 4WD platforms ever made. Yet Toyota's factory calibration ships this eight-cylinder engine with just 127hp and 290Nm at the wheels — a startlingly conservative setup given the engine's mechanical potential.
A custom ECU remap calibrating boost pressure, fuel delivery, cam timing, lambda and pedal response unleashed 56hp and 196Nm at the wheels — a 44% power increase and 68% torque gain that speaks to just how tightly the factory map restricts this engine.
At 183hp and 486Nm tuned, the 79 Series now hauls with the authority its size and V8 displacement always promised. Grade climbing under load, towing at highway speed, and technical off-road work are all transformed — this is what the 79 was always capable of.
Raised and shaped to match the compressor map — no surge, no lag
Common rail pressure optimised for combustion efficiency across the rev range
Injection timing advanced at mid-range for better torque response
Air-fuel ratio monitored and calibrated on the dyno — not estimated
Throttle response recalibrated — no dead spot off idle, linear and predictable
Conservative exhaust gas temperature ceiling maintained throughout
Properly calibrated combustion means less fuel burned to reach the same torque at cruise. Most owners report 8–15% better highway fuel economy after the remap — with no hardware changes required.
Every remap is verified on our in-house Mainline dyno. You receive the actual before/after charts with your car's numbers.
Your factory file is backed up before we start. We can restore the original tune any time — for dealer service or trade-in.
Stock exhaust, stock injectors, stock turbo. All gains come from the calibration — nothing on your car needs to change.
